See little, large, hairy and scary animals from across the globe at Faruk Yalçın Zoo!
The zoo is of great importance for children and young people to know and love animals. Faruk Yalçın Zoo, located in Darıca, has been enabling people to get to know and see animals for 30 years. Families bring their children to the garden and introduce them to animals that they cannot see in their living spaces.
They can also visit the botanical park located in the park area. FYZoo Faruk Yalçın Zoo also helps people to adopt animals symbolically. In this way, people can provide financial support to animals that are in danger of extinction.
Faruk Yalçın Zoo is a zoo that was established in Darıca and has been serving since 1990. Among the zoos in Turkey, it is a ministry-approved zoo with the highest number of animal species. The place, which is among the modern zoos, has the distinction of being the first zoo with full membership to the European Association of Zoos and Aquariums.
The animals in the garden are in danger of extinction. In this place, it is aimed that people and children get to know animals and acquire the love of animals. Entry to the zoo is possible with a ticket. It is possible to visit the zoo between 10:00 and 17:00 throughout the year.
The zoo generally consists of 3 parts: animal shelters, facilities and botanical park. Animal shelters allow people to see and get to know animals. There are more than 250 species of animals in the shelters, and those who enter the zoo can have the opportunity to see these animals by purchasing a ticket. The garden includes animal shelters and feeding areas, as well as a botanical park. There are more than 400 plant species in this park and over 8000 plants in total.
People can see the botanical park as well as the animals. Apart from the section where the botanical park and animal shelters are located, there are different places that guests can use. These places are parking lot, prayer room, baby care room, safety room, playground and infirmary. There is also a wheelchair service for disabled people to visit the garden and other areas. The park also has two cafes and a kiosk for people to eat and drink. There is also a store section where the products that people can buy when they want to take souvenirs from the zoo are sold.
